I just recently played a NL Hold 'Em home game with some friends, and found that waiting them out is one of the most valuable tools I had.

Sure, it may take awhile to make them play on tilt, but slow and steady wins the race, right?

Has anyone else found this useful?

Its not really outlasting them. Its being patient until you get the cards to put huge dents in their stacks. Im not sure what type of game you play at your friends house, but as the blinds go up in value you need to be winning chips to cover your blinds or else the blinds will eat your stack away. Once blinds get to 300/600 and up its very expensive just so sit there and try to outlast someone.

Indeed - I'm in favour of this type of play from early-mid position. You can sit there, paying little and only playing premium hands and still stay in the game.

However, getting later on into the game and you are forced to play more hands otherwise you will be taken out of the game on blinds alone.
